4 Days til 2011: My Favorites of 2010
Favorite Documentary of 2010: Winnebago Man
The subject character is fascinating, as we’ve all seen that clip. But more than that – and the payoff with meeting him is somewhat lacking – some of my favorite docs are when you’re part of the journey to actually find the story. And with him, it’s a challenge. The audience has to fight along with the director to find out why they even want to find the guy, let alone what to do with him after they’ve got him. I enjoyed that part of the movie more than the actually resolution.
A close second was the Tyson doc. Was that this year? I’ve got a long list of others I haven’t watched yet, so don’t take my word for any of it.
(also: this notches away another movie-a-week. I’m at 32 remaining.)
